content This course explores how to use movies as material for faith reflection. Just as believers often use reading as a method of spiritual practice, we can also try to extend "watching movies" to the field of spiritual practice. Each class uses a movie as a case study and discusses around the following topics: Basic understanding:
  1. The movie does not provide the audience with a complete answer at the end, but brings up new questions and brings people back to the Bible or
  2. Doubts, frustrations, difficulties and sufferings in reality are the beginning of faith - how does faith intervene in this world?
  3. Discussion of movies as an art form: Watching movies not only focuses on the plot, but also pays attention to audio-visual elements and film techniques, such as editing, lighting, composition, etc.
How do creators use film techniques to express religious themes such as sublimity, hope, and guilt?
