Three years later, he applied for a leave of absence and went to the United States to study for a master's degree in theology. One year after graduation, he continued to study in the UK. Unexpectedly, after obtaining his doctorate there, he would return to this institution to teach. The Problem of Identifying with Biblical Persons and Times

Jerry E. Moye Professor of Old Testament and Spirituality As preachers and as teachers of the Bible and theology, we are faced with an inevitable problem, and it is also a good problem, that is, we must go back and forth between between theoretical academic research and practical application of knowledge. These two aspects are complementary to each other. As a Bible teacher, consultant pastor, and preacher, the author has tried to connect issues of Bible study and exegesis with spirituality, and has received a lot of help from them. On the one hand, we pay attention to correct biblical exegesis to prevent the abuse of the basic tool of the faith community. Thoughts on Old Testament Ethics

Wong Fook-Kwong Associate Professor of Old Testament Ethics is an interdisciplinary subject in nature. For example, when discussing the issue of abortion, in addition to having sufficient knowledge of philosophy, sociology, and biblical teachings, you also need to have a certain understanding of pregnancy and childbirth. Similarly, when discussing some issues in gene therapy, in addition to having an understanding of the disciplines being studied, one must also understand the various sciences involved. Old Testament ethics is a field of ethics that examines the values, assumptions, and practices of the Old Testament to see how they relate to issues facing people today. The name "Old Testament Ethics" does not mean that other disciplines are ignored; it simply means that today's issues are discussed from an Old Testament perspective. Academically speaking, discussing ethics in this way would lead to the problem of "mistaking the era" because the Old Testament era and the present era are inherently incomparable. However, the existence and practical legitimacy of Old Testament ethics are theological: God's word transcends time, culture, and geography. ...

The Focus of Life

The reflection in the first paragraph of the book "The Purpose-Driven Life" by Chen Zhihu, a first-year Taoist master's program, is: The focus of life is not on you! God has a unique intention and plan for every believer. Therefore, every believer should search carefully and think carefully about God’s arrangements and guidance in his life. This is not a momentary acceptance, but a review of the entire journey of life, reflection and interpretation with heart, so as to understand His best intentions. ...
