Doctor of Theology Candidate Lin Noxin once attended a camp held by an intern church. During this period, I tried hiking at night for the first time. There was no electric lighting and I had to camp step by step. For me, the process of pursuing a doctoral program in theology was somewhat similar to a night hike. In 2006, I obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary, then completed a Master of Divinity program and am now pursuing a PhD program in Theology. For me, it's like a journey of growth. The Master of Divinity course was like a basic course; in three years, I had a bird's-eye view of the Christian world and a little understanding of the "ABCs" of theology. When I entered the Master of Theology program, I began to enter into the rich Christian tradition and learn about different traditions’ confessions and reflections on God. Technically, I learned how to read and sort out the expositions of theological fathers to understand their situations and concerns. The doctoral program in theology has reached another level, not passively absorbing, but actively exploring. In the process, I not only need to learn and grasp the views and discussions of a certain theologian, but also sort out the development of theological and philosophical trends.
