content |
As the third person in the Trinity, although the Holy Spirit is equally honored with the Father and the Son, He does not seem to receive commensurate attention in theological thinking and discussion, as if He has become "the Cinderella of theology" ”. Since the beginning of the charismatic movement, although the church has increased its talk about the Holy Spirit, due to the influence of the movement, many believers have a skeptical attitude and dare not talk more about the Holy Spirit for fear of being regarded as a supporter of the charismatic movement. However, by ignoring the Holy Spirit and avoiding talking about the work of the Holy Spirit, our understanding and practice of faith can easily fall into imbalance, resulting in spiritual malnutrition. This course aims to understand the role and work of the Holy Spirit from a doctrinal perspective and a church historical perspective. Contents: 1. Understanding Pneumatology as a Theological Discipline 2. View the Holy Spirit from the Bible 3. Understand the discussion of the Holy Spirit in the early church 4. The Holy Spirit and Trinity 5. The Holy Spirit and Creation 6. The Holy Spirit and Soteriology 7. The Holy Spirit and Ecclesiology: Understanding the Relationship between the Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts 8. Understand the origins and influence of the charismatic movement |
