content This course aims to allow students to understand the life of contemporary German theologian Bonhoeffer, and to gain an overview of his theological thoughts by reading his book "Following Christ", especially his understanding of the relationship between Jesus Christ and the church community. This reflects on the faith life of individual believers and church groups in the world.

  1. An introduction to Bonhoeffer's life and works
  2. The Beginning of Discipleship: The Call of Jesus Christ
  3. What it means to be a disciple: following Jesus
  4. The Meaning of Discipleship: Acknowledging Jesus as Mediator
  5. Discipleship and the Church Community
  6. The Community of Disciples: The Presence of Jesus Christ on Earth
  7. The goal toward which the discipleship community is directed: sanctification
  8. The goal toward which the discipleship community is directed: the image of Christ
